BACKGROUND

Euna was a stray sapsaree from ShiHng, Kyunggi-do, South Korea. We know nothing other than that she was picked up from the street. She was neatly shaved when she was abandoned. And she behaved like a happy golden retriever without a trace of stranger anxiety when we rescued her. Thus we think she was not abandoned but lost.

EUNA IS...

Euna is an active rambunctious happy girl. Euna is almost a golden retriever under a disguise of a Sapsaree. Otherwise it is hard to explain her exuberant playfulness both with people and other dogs! (Sapsarees in general are a bit aloof with strangers). Euna is a lovely girl who will bring joy and happiness in your family.

SOCIABILITY WITH PEOPLE

Euna is very friendly. She approaches strangers and asks for a nice pet. She prefers to stay near people if she is not engaged in play with other dogs.

SOCIABILITY WITH DOGS AND CATS

Euna is very sociable with other dogs. She accepts and plays with new dogs with no problem. Euna loves rough wrestles and hot chase. Thus the play tends to get heated. I was told from the trainer, with whom she spent her 1st month after the rescue, that she got into quarrels when the play got too heated or she did not like the way her partner played. It has not happened at my house where Euna stays since mid Sep. She is a perfect dog to bring to a dog park so far. Euna could read the signs from other dogs and avoid confrontations too. Thus she engages in no fights. It is likely that she is being more careful since she is new in my house. But I see she has no malice and good-hearted.

ENERGY / ACTIVITY LEVEL

High

THINGS TO KNOW FOR A LIFE TOGETHER

  • House broken? Yes 100%

  • Training? Good (okay with "sit", "wait", "come")

  • Leash training? Being done. Euna pulls the lead very hard in the initial phase of walks. Then she gets better. She does it probably because I have leash free dogs running ahead of her. She probably wants to join the pack. She not only pulls but also changes sides. I'm try to correct her but probably have no enough time. Without a leash in the woods, she is fine. She won't leave the pack and comes back on me often. She won't go beyond the most front dog.

  • Shedding? Low

  • Barking? Average (She barks loudly at strangers near the fence. Not too bad)

  • Appetite? Very, very good

  • Separation anxiety? Unknown

  • Mischief? None

  • Motion sickness? Low or none

SPECIAL NEEDS

None

IDEA HOME

Euna is a young adult but she behaves like a big puppy. She will be a great addition to a home where the owners could spend a lot of time with her. She will be sad if she is left out since she is very loving and needs to be with people.

--------------

Euna's Stray Dog Notice. It was a rainy season when she was pickup by the pound staff. That is why she is wet in the photo. We think she was well taken cared for by the condition of her coat; it was neatly shaven.

Euna at the trainer's.

Euna was sent to the trainer's for a month because we could not find a foster home for her.

Euna came back to my house (I'm the rescuer). She is so lovely and cute.

Euna loves toys. She chases after a thrown ball but does not retrieve.

Euna loves to chase after a laser point beam~ :-)

Euna is very sociable and playful. We have a temperament dog who is possessive of me and toys. Euna tried hard and made friends with her.

Euna also made friends with a new dog. They have become the best friends shortly.

Euna loves walks too. She pulls the leash hard to go after other dogs ahead of her. She might be okay if there is no other dog. Otherwise she needs leash training.

Off leash, Euna won't leave the pack or you. She won't go beyond the most front dog in the pack and she comes back to you regularly. Treats makes her return more reliable.

In short, Euna is a wonderful dog. She is loving, cuddly, friendly, sociable, playful, happy, joyful... 100% house-trained, knows basic obedience commands, has great appetite (I guarantee that she will never complain of your cooking skills) and little or no motion sickness... What could you ask more from a pup? Well she will need a leash training -who won't? :-)
