BACKGROUND

Silky was picked up in a crop field in Uljin (a southern area of south Korea). We know nothing about her background.

SILKY IS...

Silky is a cute young girl full of happy energy.

SOCIABILITY WITH PEOPLE

Silky is very (perhaps too) friendly with people. She approaches strangers for petting.

SOCIABILITY WITH DOGS AND CATS

Silky is friendly with other dogs. She generally gets too excited by the sight of other dogs she meets during walks (she has not had much experience in mingling with other dogs). She pulls hard toward the dogs and tries to play with them with her tail wagging. Small dogs sometimes find her enthusiasm too much though. She does not seem to be able to hear people to call her back when she is excited.

Silky has not been with house cats but it is hard to imaging she hunts cats to kill. She may try to play with them.

ENERGY / ACTIVITY LEVEL

High. Rambunctious.

THINGS TO KNOW FOR A LIFE TOGETHER

  • House broken? Yes. (She uses urine pads when she cannot go out for long due to rain).

  • Training? Being done (okay with "sit" and "come")

  • Leash training? Being done (Mostly fine but she pulls hard toward the target of her interest - other dogs)

  • Shedding? Low

  • Barking? Low

  • Appetite? Good

  • Separation anxiety? Unlikely (She is okay when she is alone for 8 hours 2-3 times/week. She tends to make mistakes (pees in an inappropriate place) when she is left alone for a short time during weekends.)

  • Mischief? Chewing things up (hands, blankets, chairs, beds etc). She won't stop by commands.

  • Motion sickness? Yes. She needs a kennel.

SPECIAL NEEDS

None

IDEA HOME

Any home with reasonable activity would be fine for Silly/

Silky's Stray Dog Notice

Silky is cuddly and loving. She approaches strangers with a little reservation initially but she opens up quickly. She prefers to stay by people when she is not playing with other dogs, She likes to sleep beside people in the bedroom too.

Silky has been walked with a harness. She is okay in leash walks most of the time. But she pulls hard to reach the target of interests (dogs).

Silky is very sociable and playful with other dogs. She spent hours in wrestling with and chasing after her friends.
