BACKGROUND

Itsy Bitsy brothers were picked up together from the streets of KyungJoo, a capital city of ancient dynasty Shilla, in early April, 2022. They stayed at the city pound about 7-8 weeks before we rescued them on May 29th. The two brothers were at the foster home less than 2 weeks. Then they moved to the trainer's on June 11 (not because they have behavioral problems, but because we could not find a foster home for them).

ITSY BITSY ARE...

Itsy Bitsy brothers are sweet boys who love to be with people. Itsy is smaller & more active and Bitsy is slightly bitter, more calm and reserved of the two.

SOCIABILITY WITH PEOPLE

They are very friendly with people. They can be a little bit shy initially. But they will open up as soon as they hear their names called out cheerfully.

SOCIABILITY WITH DOGS AND CATS

They are friendly with other dogs. But they tend to retreat to their corner together after initial greetings are over. They need a few to several days to warm up with new dogs. After warming up, they chase, mock-bite and wrestle with other dogs in a lovely goofy way. Bitsy is more playful than Itsy at the moment, probably because Bitsy has been at the foster home longer than Itsy. Itsy came back from the trainer's and has joined the foster home only a week ago on August 2nd. In general Itsy seems more bold with people and more careful with dogs.

Itsy Bitsy brothers have no experience with cats. We think they will be fine with a proper introduction.

ENERGY / ACTIVITY LEVEL

Average

THINGS TO KNOW FOR A LIFE TOGETHER

  • House broken? Yes, almost. Bitsy is better than Itsy so far.

  • Training? Being done currently ("sit", "wait", "come" done)

  • Leash training? Being done. They used to walk in all possible directions separately. The video below was taken after 2 weeks at the trainer's. They are clearly doing better.

  • Car rides? They have been in the car only in the kennel so far. They have motion sickness (salivation, vomit). Try to skip breakfast if you expect a long drive (more than 10s of minutes).

  • Shedding? Yes (BItsy sheds more than Itsy).

  • Barking? Low

  • Appetite? Very good. They have gained 3-4 lbs in 2 months. Now chubby!

  • Separation anxiety? Unknown (Either Itsy or Bitsy has never been alone. There have been other dogs).

SPECIAL NEEEDS

None

IDEA HOME

Itsy and Bitsy will adapt to any house. We hope to adopt them out together or at least adopt them out separately in the general same area so that they could see each other. (The brothers gently touch their noses when they greet each other. It is endearing).
