BACKGROUND

Toby came from UlJin where the devastating wildfire destroyed 70% of Uljin's forest in March, 2022. He was surrendered to UlJin Pound with his mom, Bella in April, 2022. Toby and Bella did not show any sign of abuse or neglect. If any, they showed that they were well cared; it was clear that they were let indoors and lived close with people. Thus we guessed it was economic hardship that caused their owner to surrender them to the pound.

TOBY IS...

Toby is an introvert. He is a quiet loving boy. He is friendly with both people and dogs.

SOCIABILITY WITH PEOPLE

Toby loves people and wants to be with people. He must have lived with people indoors. He does not hesitate to come close to people for petting or to come indoors. But he won't push himself too much and quietly retreat into the background if his quiet approach does not meet with welcoming petting. He will flourish with attention and love.

SOCIABILITY WITH DOGS AND CATS

Toby is friendly with dogs too. He is friendly but in a quiet and reserved way. He is not a dog who initiates a wild game of wrestling or pursuit. He hangs around with non-dominant dogs. He loves toys, especially squeaky toys. He may growl at other dogs who may steal his favorite toys.

He has not been with a cat.

IDEAL HOME

Toby will do better as a single dog or with another dog who is not too dominant. Otherwise he will be likely in the shadow of the other dog.

-------------

Toby's Stray Dog Notice.

Toby and his mom Bella (now Fozzie in SF) were transported together. And then they were separated. Bella cried out in her crate when Toby's crate was moved away.

Toby at the rescuer's home

Toby at the trainer's. Toby was sent to the trainer's, not because he had behavioral issues, but because we could not find a foster home for him.

Toby was not happy at the trainer's. At the trainer's, each dog slept alone in a cell. Toby cried at night because he wanted a company. He barely ate. Thus we moved him to a doggy hotel. At the doggy hotel, he stayed with a group of dogs all the time. He seemed okay with fine appetite. He stayed at the hotel 1.5 months. He returned to the rescuer's house in early July to prepare his flight to SF on July 29th.

This is the 2nd time Toby stays at the rescuer's house. Toby looks a lot more relaxed and happier. His appetite is normal too. It was not annoying at all to hear his barking for a breakfast in the morning.

Toby has never received a kind and attentive care like his mom Fozzie (Bella) after he was surrendered to the pound. Thus I cannot wait for him to be adopted! I bet he will thrive at the attention and love he receives!!
