Ozzie is a puppy who makes people happy. He is friendly and gentle. He loves people. He is sensitive to people's mood and tries to give comfort if someone is sad. He asks for a pet or loves just being with people. He is also cool minding his own business (usually playing with his favorite balls and toys), if you leave him alone.

Indoors, he is calm and not destructive. He sniffs at things on top of furnitures and does not bring them down. Outdoors, if the leash is long, he likes to go after things following his curiosity - for example, inside of shops, passers-by and other dogs. If the leash is short (~ 3 feet), he will adjust his gait and walk beside you. He greets people and dogs he meets on the street and then goes on his way; he hardly follows them. He is slightly afraid of big dogs and walks away if they growl. He was not allowed to a doggy playground yet. But we think he will behave well. He is friendly and well mannered; not aggressive at all in general.

Ozzie does not have separation anxiety. When left alone (so far he was left alone only for 2 hours), he may bark or whimper a few times initially, then he falls asleep. When he wakes up, he plays with his toys (or towels if they are in his reach). He won't destroy things inside the house. He won't go into the trash cans either. The foster mom promised to leave him longer time and see how he behaves.

Ozzie is very good during car rides. He is used to short- and long-distance (4-6 hours) drives. He enjoys looking out through the window. No motion sickness.

Ozzie is very well trained to pee/poop on the urine pad. But he started to pee/poop during walks too. He knows "sit", "wait", and "no" in Korean. He will understand quickly when the same commands are given in English. He is on the tidy side as a dog - no profuse salivation or splashing water during drinking. He behaves well at the hospital too; no fear of injections.

Ozzie seems to have delicate digestive system. He used to have diarrhea with no obvious cause. Thus he has been on the prescription diet (Hill's Gastrointestinal Biome), following the vet's suggestion. He gets a small potion of kibbles 3 times/day. It might be okay to switch to regular diet soon. Because of this, Ozzie is crazy for food and treats. But, again, you need to be careful with treats because of his sensitive digestion.

-----------------

Ozzie was a stray dog found in Jeju Island of South Korea.

Ozzie at the Jeju City Pound. There was an outbreak of Canine Distemper and then Parvovirus in the pound. Thus Ozzie was pretty lucky for not getting either virus even though he was a 5-6 month old puppy.

It was clear Ozzie had been well cared for in the past. He had no problem in coming and staying indoors. (Some dogs who have not been indoors often have difficulty in coming inside). He came with a decent collar, unlike most stray dogs who come with a cheap rough canvas collar. Thus we think Ozzie must have been lost, rather than abandoned. His previous owner might have not known where to find Ozzie.

Ozzie was very well trained to use urine pads for his nature calls.

Ozzie was not well right after the rescue. He had diarrhea and symptoms of cold. There had been an outbreak of canine distemper at the pound he came from. His cold symptoms had not gotten better. Thus we found another foster without dogs for Ozzie. This foster pawrents had lost their loved dogs 2 years ago and Ozzie was their first puppy since. They poured love and attention to Ozzie. Thanks to them, Ozzie became a healthy, happy, well-round puppy.

Ozzie visited the home of his rescuer and his first foster home. He behaved very well.
